It’s hard to believe that we are in the final week of the school year. It’s
been a great year! Watching your children grow and learn throughout the year
has been so rewarding. Thank you for all your help and support this past
year. Both Mrs. Rospert and I have been blessed to work with such great
parents and grandparents. Enjoy the summer!
Language Arts (Pre-Reading & Writing Skills)
Letter Z was introduced - the children learned the sound for Z and practiced
writing capital Z. The children worked on writing their first name on lined
paper. We also worked on letter and number writing in the handwriting
books. These were sent home for your children to keep. There are additional
pages that you can complete with your children during the summer months.
Summer Activities
Attached is a list of activities to further reinforce skills that you can do
with your children over the summer.
Thank You
Thank you for all the donations this year. We certainly appreciated the
juice brought in each week, various items and food for party days and other
materials that were donated to the classroom.
Centers
We continued with our new center format this past week. The children did
very well completing a specific task at centers in small groups, then
rotating to a different task each day. This format is used in kindergarten.
Introducing this new format in these last weeks of school will help the
children with the transition to kindergarten.
Bowling Field Trip
This Tuesday, May 25th both four year old preschool classes will celebrate
the end of the school year with a bowling party. It will be held at Kenilee
Lanes. You will need to transport your child to Kenilee Lanes at 9:15 and
pick them up at 11:00. We will not be scheduling field trip drivers for this
party. Please remember to have your child wear socks to the bowling alley.
Last Day & Picnic
Our last class day will be Wednesday, May 26th. On Thursday, May 27th the
children are welcome to join us for a Preschool Picnic at Baines Park from
11:00-1:00. The children must be accompanied by an adult during the picnic,
but younger siblings and family members are welcome too. Please bring your
own lunch and drink to the park.
