I am looking forward to meeting with you this week during conferences.  I will try to stay on schedule, but please be patient.

Just a reminder that this Friday is an early release day for grades k-six.  Lunch will not be served, and students will be dismissed at 11:30.

Please be sure to send the report card envelope signed as soon as possible.

All students will need to to complete all of the timed test by the end of the second grading period.  This will count as a test grade for Math.

Students may recite the November prayer (Prayer of St. Francis) at any time.

Students did well on the elapsed time on Thursday.  We will discuss elapsed time on a calendar, and then will have a test over the chapter on Thursday.  We will spend Tuesday reviewing.
We will continue to take timed multiplication tests.  Students should be working on their flashcards at home.

Language Arts
This week, we will continue to work in our Reading books again, re-reading the story "Coyote School News".  We will work more with drawing conclusions.  Later in the week, we will read a couple of short stories which will also deal with drawing conclusions.
Our Free Writing this week is related to our Religion.
Free Writing --Write about a family member in whom you see God reflected

Spelling--none

Social Studies
Students did well on last week's test.  Any student who would like to correct it for an improved grade needs to return it by Tuesday.  We will start to discuss the French and Indian War and then move onto the Revolutionary War.We will begin chapter 5 which deals a lot with the role models that students have.  We will also discuss the fact that Jesus is the perfect role model for all people to follow.  Our free writing this week is to write about a family member that you see the reflection of God in.  We will complete the chapter by the end of the week and fill out the study guide.  The test will be on Tuesday, November 17.
