Class Newsletter (2009-10)

                 Newsletter #3 October)

Good Evening Parents,Guardians:

We will be soon entering the sixth week of the school year, and already we
have achieved a lot of work this term. As you read on this web site, we have
finished number sense for this month, and now are into measurement and
geometry unit.

I hope you and your child are taking advantage of the Home Work Help, Tutor
online, that runs from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm, Sunday to Thursday. So far it has
been a very popular site for grades seven to ten.

As I had mentioned earlier on the home page, quizzes, tests and assignments
will take place on Fridays or Mondays only, so that you may review with your
child. Students, are expected to return all quizzes, tests, and
assignments to you to be signed, and after any errors are corrected, return to
the teacher.

For students interested in a follow up test, I will assign work to help
improve their grade.

This month the students have been working on their Biography. I do encourage
them to attend the Public Library for further research

I have outlined the Religion Power Point Presentation on the Home Page. The
grade seven classes will be researching the many religions of the world.
Please assist your child with selecting the religion they would like to study.
This can be completed with a partner or as an individual project.

The class has also begun to read the novel "If I Just Had Two Wings", in
class. Please encourage your child to read a chapter or two of the novel at
home each night. I will post novel activities in the near future.

If you have any question, or would like to meet with me to discuss your
child's progress, please contact me at St. Faustina.

Note: Hockley Valley Ski/Snowboarding Forms will be sent home early next
week for your information. Dates:
January 12, 26, 2010 February 9, 23, 2010
