New K Registration

Evaluation appointments must be made by all prospective Kindergartners who 
will be 5 years old by September 1st.

Developmental Skills Evaluation Appointments and registration papers will be 
available for prospective Kindergarten families as follows:

     Beginning with our Adventist Families on March 2nd,

     Our returning T.V.J.A. families may begin registration on March 9th,

     and

     Registration will be available for the community during our Open House
     on March 12th.

We encourage families to attend Open House on March 12 to visit with the 
teachers, see the classroom, and explore curriculum materials.

Children must be Five before September 1, 2009

Evaluation appointments are only guaranteed when the following information 
is received before April 15th:
	1) Registration papers completed and fees paid
	2) A copy of your child’s birth certificate
	3) Your child's immunization record
	4) A reference letter and/or a progress report from your child’s 
	   previous child care provider(s)

Evaluations for all registering Kindergarten students will take place
May 5 - 7, 2009 by appointment only.

School Readiness:

Child is physically healthy, rested and well nourished.

Child communicates needs, wants and thoughts verbally (in child's primary 
language.  Child can initiate and sustain conversations.

Child is enthusiastic and curious in approaching new activites

Child can follow simple, two-step directions.

Child plays and works cooperatively, adapts to planned activities and 
changes, and responds appropriately to a variety of situations.  School 
success is dependent upon a child's ability to take turns, share, cooperate, 
sit still for age-appropriate timeframes and not be disruptive.  Healthy 
emotional development also includes the ability to understand how others 
feel and the ability to express one's own feelings.

Child is able to use objects such as pencils, scissors or paint bushes; 
exhibits skills such as: hops on one foot, balances while walking on a line 
on the floor, walks and runs with ease.
