A.P. United States History is entering a sixth year. This year we will have
two sections and the classes will be comprised of juniors. This class is
designed to be taught at a college level with students taking the A.P. test
in May for college credit. To pass the test you must be willing to put in the
preparation. This year we will try to have a once a month
seminar at night in the BHS library. These will be optional but very
important to do the in-depth research and discussions needed for the class.
We also hope to be able to take a trip to Washinton/Gettysburg this March. I
hope to
have a meeting with all the students and families on this in September.
There are a lot of details to work out on this but we do have approval to
discuss this.
The best way to prepare this summer is to read the book " Inventing America"
and check out our website-- www.wwnorton.com. The exact site is
www.wwnorton.com/college/history/inventing/interface/welcome.htm We will
cover the first three chapters in about two weeks so you need to be ready.
We have brand new A.P. prep books this year which I think will help a great
deal. Feel free to contact me during the summer with my school e-mail. Enjoy
your summer, relax and get ready for what I hope will be a rewarding
experience.
US/Pa. History covers material from the end of World War One to the end of
ther 20th Century. This year my sections will be covering the class in a
block schedule. We will meet everyday for a semester in a 80 minute block.
This will be a challenge to all of us but I am looking forward to it.With our
new laptops we will focus on doing individual and group projects. With the
way the class is set up it will be very important to be in class. I will try
to post our work on my website so that if you are out you can work at home.
