How can I register my child to begin instrumental band lessons?
ELANCO has a spring registration for interested 3rd, 4th, and 5th
graders who wish to play a band instrument in the fall of the
upcoming school year.
Where can I lease/rent an instrument for my child?
Please check out our LOCAL MUSIC STORES link to see which store has the best
deal for you!
What if I can't afford to rent/lease an instrument?
Check with Mr. Moll or Mrs. Schoener -- sometimes school instruments
are available OR contact Instrumental Solutions at 717-442-8250
(see the Links webpage for their web address)
What kind of reeds do beginner clarinet/saxophone players need?
We use Rico Royal #2 reeds to start our students. As they advance, we
upgrade their reed strength.
What kind of reeds do beginner oboe players need?
We start our students on fibercane oboe reeds since they are more
durable then we upgrade them to Selmer Soloist medium soft reeds.
What lesson book will my child need or which one should my child go to next?
Please see our curriculum link for the progression of lesson books at ELANCO!
How do I join the Elementary Jazz Band?
If you play flute, clarinet, piano, or drumset -- you must audition for the
directors to be in this organization. All Saxes and brass are welcome as
long
as they are in their third lesson book or higher. Directors will notify you
by
letter if you are eligible.
