Cadet Band is a culminating experience
for the instrumentalist during their first year of instruction. It
is not the same ensemble as the Spartan Band, which
is for selected second and third year players. Cadet Band is a
collection of students who are selected by the directors to
participate in a large instrumental ensemble after school. These
students are selected because they have demonstrated not only
musicianship but also responsibility during their instrumental
lessons. This band meets after school on Fridays during the spring
starting in March. At the end of April there is an annual
Elementary Spring Concert in which the Cadet Band students will
perform. All beginner instrumentalists who are accepted into the
Cadet Band will be notified by January.
