TEACHING BACKGROUND:  Mrs. Horein teaches at Lancaster Country Day and performs with the York Symphony.  She is a former member of the Harrisburg and Lancaster Symphonies as well as the Lancaster Opera Company.  Mrs. Horein did her undergraduate study at Ball State University and received her Master of Arts from West Chester University.

TEACHING BACKGROUND:  Mrs Gordon joined the Millersville University faculty in 2000 as their oboe and bassoon professor, and has been professor of oboe at York College since 1999.  She is currently a member of the York Symphony Orchestra, Reading Pops Orchestra, Keystone Winds, The Silverwood Trio, and New Holland Band.  In 1997 she earned her B.S. in Education and Oboe Performance from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and in 1999 she graduated summa cum laude from Michigan State University.  She has been a featured soloist with the Johnstown Symphony, IUP Orchestra, New Holland Band, Garden Spot High School Band, and the Lyric Band of Hanover.  Recently, Mrs Gordon had students selected for District and Regional Band.  She is also a graduate of Garden Spot High School and former student of Mrs. Schoener!

TEACHING BACKGROUND:  Ms. Englert has a Masters of Music and Performance from the Eastman School of Music and is active as a soloist, recitalist, and clinician in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Vermont, and New Jersey.  She is a former member of the Erie (PA) Philharmonic, Erie Chamber Orchestra, Erie Concert Band, and founder/director of the Cambridge Chamber Players.  Ms. Englert is a member of the Music Teachers National Association and tries to offer performance opportunities (recitals, festivals, competitions, workshops) to all of her students when they are ready.

TEACHING BACKGROUND:  Mr. Behrens is the Professor of Flute at Millersville University since 1981.  For over 20 years he was a member and principle flutist of the Harrisburg Symphony, Assistant Director and principle flutist of the Harrisburg City Band, Principle flutist of the 553rd Air Force National Guard Band and a former member and section leader of the United States Military Academy Band at West Point.  Over two hundred of his students (including Mrs. Schoener) have been selected to perform in Pennsylvania District, Regional, and State Bands and Orchestras. He teaches students from beginning to advanced levels.

TEACHING BACKGROUND: Mrs. Behrens graduated from Millersville University where she received a degree in Performance/Pedogogy.  She is presently doing graduate work at the University of Maryland in Flute Performance.  Currently she is an adjunct Professor of Flute at Millersville University and Shippensburg University and was director of the Lancaster Mennonite High School Flute Choir.  She is the resident flute teacher of the Lancaster Conservatory. A former member of the Allentown Band, Mrs. Behrens has also been principle flutist of the Harrisburg City Band and the Lancaster Opera Company.  Her students have received music scholarships at various colleges and have been selected for district and county band festivals.  Mrs. Behrens teaches students from beginning to advanced levels.

TEACHING BACKGROUND: Ms. Shirk has a degree in Music Education from Philadelphia Biblical University, as well as a masterÕs degree in Flute Performance from West Chester University. She is principal flutist with the New Holland Band, and has been featured as a soloist with them.  Ms. Shirk has performed in master classes with Dr. William Montgomery at the University of Maryland, and with renowned flutists William Bennett and Gary Schocker.  Currently a student of flutist/composer Gary Schocker. Ms. Shirk maintains a flute studio out of her home near Churchtown and regularly directs solo and ensemble performances with her students.

TEACHING BACKGROUND:  Mrs. Shiffer has a B.M. in Clarinet Performance from Millikin University in Decatur, IL.  She also has a Master of Music in Clarinet Performance from the University of Northern Colorado. Mrs. Shiffer is currently Adjunct Instructor of clarinet and saxophone at Elizabethtown College.  She has performed on the national tours of ŅSunday in the Park with George,Ó ŅSouth Pacific,Ó and ŅChicago,Ó and performs regularly throughout the Central Pennsylvania region.

TEACHING BACKGROUND:  Mr. Laboranti has a BA in Jazz Saxophone Performance and a Masters Degree in Music Education from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and has done post-graduate studies at Villanova University.  He has studied with David Bilger, Grover Washington Jr., Tom Strohman, Larry McKenna, Ron Kerber, and Trudy Pitts.  Mr. Laboranti has performed with B.B. King, Robin Eubanks, Teddy Pendergrass, The Bluenotes, Hershey Symphonic Big Band, D.C. & Co., DonÕt Call Me Francis, Dave Stahl Big Band, FM, Clyde Lucas, Jazz Speak, Reggae Pop, Mystique, and several other groups including the Lars Halle Jazz Orchestra and Rhythm & Praise Gospel Choir.

TEACHING BACKGROUND:  A professional performer since 1968,  Mr. McCoy performed with the 3rd Armored Div. Band (Army), American Music Theatre,and  is a member of local bands such as the Roadsters, The Rock and Roll Machine,and the Dave Holt Band.  A graduate of the Armed Forces School of Music, Mr. McCoy attended Elizabethtown College majoring in music performance.

TEACHING BACKGROUND:  Mr. Arment graduated Magna cum Laude from West Chester University with a B.A. in Music.  He studied trombone and baritone with Russ Sumpman and Lee Southall (W.C.U.).  He also was a piano student of Dr. Robert Bedford (W.C.U.) and presently studies with Ben Whitten (W.C.U. retired).  He is principal trombonist with the New Holland Band and has been a featured soloist many times on both trombone and piano.  Mr. Arment has been teaching for twenty-five years and has had many students selected for the Pennsylvania District 7 Band.

TEACHING BACKGROUND:  Mr. Hillard is a graduate of Elizabethtown College and West Chester University.  He is currently an instrumental music teacher in the School District of Lancaster and has over 30 years of teaching experience.  He has served as an instructor with the All-American Youth Honor Band in Spain, Greece, Italy, England, Mexico, France, and Portugal.  Mr. Hillard performs with many ensembles along the East Coast, including the Dave Stahl Band, and is a member of the New Holland Band and Jazz Band.  He gives students flexible summer scheduling for those who have busy summer calendars!

He currently plays with the New Holland Band, New Holland Dance band and the Red Rose Brass (a brass quartet).  He also performs as soloist for weddings and church services.

TEACHING BACKGROUND:  Ms. Kissinger graduated from Millersville University with a B.S. in Music Education.  She studied piano performance and pedagogy under Dr. Anita Renfroe, Millersville University, as well as extensive private study.  She is a current student of vocal performance and vocal pedgogy of Dr. Thomas Houser.  Her professional organizations include Music Teachers National Association and National Association of Teachers of Singing. She specializes and is experienced in teaching blind, autistic, mentally retarded, and learning disabled students.  Performance opportunities are offered such as recitals, auditions, and special programs.  Ms. Kissinger is an experienced solo vocal performer, accompanist, and church organist.   She has been teaching privately since 1986.  Children through adults are welcome.
