What can I do to help my child be successful in school?

Whenever you have a question, please ask. Come into the
classroom to visit
and/or volunteer. Parents are always welcome. Students are very
excited
when you visit the classroom. Read the weekly newsletter to your
child. At
the bottom of the newsletter, you'll see a section called: Ask me
about . . . . By going over what's listed in that section, you
can learn
all about what's happening in Pre-K.

How do I go about volunteering?

If you are interested in volunteering in the classroom or for
field trips,
you must have your clearances. You may obtain this paperwork by
contacting
the Administration office at 150 Lorana Ave. Once you have your
clearances,
you can arrange a time in advance to come into the classroom and
volunteer.
You can also just stop by, it doesn't have to be scheduled in
advance.
Parents, Grandparents, and friends are always welcome to come
into the
classroom to observe, assist in one of the learning centers, read
to the
students, share a special skill, celebrate a birthday, or
anything else you
or your child can think of.

What is Young Writer's Workshop? How do I do writing with my child at home?

Young Writer's Workshop is the child writing stories the way they
see, hear,
and feel it should be written. It's quick, it's easy, and it's
fun!
Young Writer's Workshop is a vital component of the Pre-K
curriculum. If
you would like to learn about it so you can do writing with your
child at
home, please call the school to set up an appointment. I would
be happy to
walk you through the process.
