MONDAY: Floating and sinking! Will discuss how and why a bloat will float.
discuss buoyancy, Archimedes Principle and density. Experiment with
cylinders of different materials but same size to determine which will float
and sink. M82-84.
TUESDAY: Review displacement and density, read pgs. M85-87 and complete
questions on M87 for homework. Discuss construction of our aluminum foil
boats for tomorrow.
WEDNESDAY: Begin construction of aluminum foil boats now that we have learned
about the principles of buoyancy. Try to make a boat that holds the most
marbles w/o sinking! Guided Reading worksheet is for homework.
THURSDAY: collect Guided reading worksheet, finish up boats, review for quiz
tomorrow.
FRIDAY: QUIZ on buoyancy.
