Parent Communication

There are many ways for parents to remain informed about the gifted support
program.

1. One great way to stay in contact with the GS program is to log on to this
web site.

2. Newsletters and portfolios go home to parents each quarter. The
newsletters inform parents of what has been happening during their child’s
gifted support class and what to expect in the next quarter. The student
portfolios contain examples of the activities and projects that students
have completed thus far. Please keep the newsletter and return the portfolio
by its due date so that we can add more to it as the year progresses.
Current newsletters and newsletter archives are accessible on the website.

3. GIEP conferences are held once a year to review goals and objectives,
sign GIEP paperwork, and to discuss student progress and the next year’s
curriculum. These GIEP conferences are usually held in May and June for
returning gifted support students.

4. I am available during parent/teacher conferences in November. I can
attend your child’s conference with the classroom teacher or have a private
conference with you. A conference form is sent home by the school through
each homeroom. If you are interested in having me attend, please check the
box on this conference form where it says "Gifted Support, Mrs. Zanine".
Due to the large number of students I service between two buildings,
availability and conference time options are limited.

5. You are always welcome to contact me by sending a note or by contacting
me by phone. My phone number is 215-257-6299 extension 2033. Please leave a
voicemail including your name, phone number and the best time to reach you
at that number. I’ll return the call as soon as possible. I can also be
contacted via email. My email is jzanine@pennridge.org.

Here is the same communication information presented in a timeline format.
