SouperBowl of Caring
We will be collecting money for Meals on Wheels and the St. Vincent de Paul
Food Bank after all Masses the weekend of February 4 & 5.  Pick a Mass to
attend and sign up now for service hours.  Without someone standing at the
door we do not raise any money!!  

Love Walk for the Poor
Sunday, February 12 is the Love Walk.  We had a large group attend last year
so don't be left out.  Sign up now!!  
Earn 4 service hours!  We leave St. Philip at 1 P.M. and return at 5 P.M. 
Mass at 2 P.M. at Sacred Heart Church then we walk in any kind of weather
carrying the donations we brought to a shelter where we do service projects.  
All ages welcome!!  Under 6th grade must be accompanied by an adult.  
RSVP by February 3 with permission slip.

High School Days are Thursdays after school till 5 P.M. at the Hope House.

1st week is Wii - We will play Wii games.  If allowed, please bring a remote
and games or we can play games we have with 1 remote.  

2nd week is Games and Food Day - We will play games and make and eat 
a snack!!  Yummy!!

3rd week is Bible Study or Talk Day - We will talk about a part of the Bible
or a current event or hot topic.  What would you like to talk about next?

4th week is Movie Day - We will watch a different movie every week.  What
movie do you want to see?  

5th week (if needed) is Service Day - we will do service around St. Philip or
for someone.  

Not everyone can get there at 2:30.  Come when you can.  Come after events or
practice after school.  Come when your bus drops you off and you can get a
ride or walk down.  Just come before 5!  



Advisory Board

Advisory Board positions are available for Youth Ministry members for the 
2011-12 year.  Teens earn service hours for participating.  Teens must apply 
and are picked based on their talents.  Positions are for a one year 
commitment but may be renewed.  Meetings will be held once a month unless an 
additional meeting is needed for a particular event.  

Teens in 6-12th grade are welcome to apply.  Contact Heidi to apply.  Please 
email or mail a paragraph outlining your talents and why you wish to be part 
of the advisory board.  youthministry@saintphilipchurch.org or St. Philip

Adults are also needed.  No service hours are earned but no application 
paragraph is required either.  :)  

Available positions:

General member: 
Help plan future events.  Assist at the events.  Come up for ideas for future 
activities.

Promoter: 
Make flyers, update website, compose email and phone scripts, send 
information about events to local schools for them to promote. 
This position should be more than 1 teen.

Phone person: 
Call teens and volunteers to inform them about upcoming events.

Refreshments (prefer adult): 
Purchase and serve refreshments during activities.  Can be as involved as you 
wish.  May make food or purchase chips.  

Chaperones (adults): 
Parents with clearances are needed at all events.  

Chaperone scheduler (adult):
One person is needed to be in charge of making a calendar to make sure adults 
will be present at all activities so it doesn’t always end up being the same 
adults.
