In the novel, "Hatchet", 13 year old Brian Robeson finds himself alone
and stranded in the Canadian wilderness with nothing but a hatchet and
his personal knowledge. While traveling to visit his
father who is working in the oil fields of Canada, the pilot of the small
aircraft has a heart attack and dies. Brian finds himself alone with the
immediate task of landing the plane without crashing and killing
himself. Needless-to-say, Brain faces many dangers and
experiences he is not prepared to handle.
