Announcements

TO ALL OF MY STUDENTS IN K, 5, 6, 7, AND 8: God bless all of you at this
holiday time and in the New Year. You may not always believe it, but EACH of
you is very special to me, and you are loved just as you are.

SPANISH CLASSES: You all did a wonderful job with our Christmas activities!
From the Christmas song in 8 languages, the Christmas Posada enactments,
attendance at the Spanish Christmas mass at St. Paul's, to the Christmas cards
for senior citizens, you amazed me with your willingness to do for others and
with your God-given talents. Thank you!

STUDENTS AND PARENTS: I wish all of you a very happy Christmas. May we
remember the reason for the season...Jesus. Remember, wise men still seek Him!

Thank you for all your gifts and well wishes! You are so generous, and I will
share what was given with those who truly are in need. God bless all of you
now, in the New Year, and always!

STUDENTS: 6A, thank you for the Christmas cards you made for the senior
citizens; I know they will really enjoy them.

6TH GRADERS: Congratulations on doing a GREAT job with the Christmas song on
the visits to the K-5 classes! The students truly enjoyed your song and the
gifts of the treats. (And now you can tell everyone that you speak 8 languages!)

5TH GRADERS: You were AWESOME in learning the Spanish song so quickly and
well! Sister Geri, Miss Poglein, and I all really enjoyed your enthusiastic
singing. Your singing is a gift from God; use it always!

PARENTS AND STUDENTS: Thank you to the parents and students who attended the
Spanish mass at St. Paul's Cathedral on Friday, December 11th. It really
pleased me to see you there and know that you had a chance to experience
something very special. I hope you enjoyed it, too.

PARENTS: Due to many recent colds, we are getting low on Kleenex and facial
tissues in 6A. If anyone is able to contribute a box or two, please do. We are
also requesting donations of the colorless hand sanitizer, such as Purelle
Original, as the colored types tend to have perfumes that aggravate students'
allergies. Thank you in advance for your help and generosity!

PARENTS: Please check Gradebook to see how your child is currently doing in
Spanish. Please remember that ALL Spanish students are responsible for
studying 15 minutes nightly from the Spanish notes and vocabulary. To be
honest with you, it seems that not many of the students are doing the
studying, which is their Spanish homework. Please monitor their Spanish study
time. Thank you!

SPANISH CLASSES' STUDENTS AND PARENTS: The homework assignments are always
posted on the homework page. If a student misses class or forgets an
assignment, check the homework page for current assignments.

PARENTS: Any student who has low marks in Spanish (C or below for the first
9-week Spanish grade)will be asked to have a parent monitor and sign off on a
daily 15-minute period of study. During the 15 minutes, the student should
study the current vocabulary and class notes. Each student should also keep
current vocabulary words on index cards and do a rotational study of them
weekly.

STUDENTS: Always make up any work that you miss as soon as possible.
ONE missed assignment, which receives a zero, can make the difference between
a very nice passing grade and an 'E'!!! If you need help with a subject, see
me right away; don't wait until you are failing.
