Homework Policy

Homework is important! Homework is a way to reinforce and practice what has
been presented in class. It also helps one to become better organized,
assume personal responsibility, and reinforce the ability to work
independently.

WHAT IS CONSIDERED HOMEWORK?
Homework is any assignment given by the teacher to the students. Homework is
required to be completed and turned in by a certain date. This date is
usually the following class time unless stated otherwise by the teacher.

Homework is also obtaining a signature on all graded papers. Not only is
this a policy of St. Philip School but also is an effective way to
communicate with parents / guardians regarding students' progress and grades.

HOMEWORK EXPECTATIONS
HOMEWORK MUST BE:
1. Turned in on full-size looseleaf paper. This includes the work shown in
math.

2. Neat and legible.

3. Complete assignments to the best of students’ ability.

4. Complete work / return signed papers on time.

****5. Missed assignments due to absence from the classroom (i.e. sickness,
band practice, doctor's appointment, etc.) must be made up. It is the
student’s responsibility to find out the missing assignments.****

CONSEQUENCES FOR LATE ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Student will receive a lunch time detention for failing to turn in work.

2. Repeated failure to turn in work will result in parental contact leading
to a meeting.

****3. Homework will NOT be accepted later than 2 days from the time of the
due date.****
