Miss Meredith's 5th Grade

Hi! I am thirty-seven years old. I am a Tennessee Native and have lived in Tullahoma, Tennessee and the surrounding area all of my life. I love to read and I love animals. I miss my dalmatian named Patch...for the black "patch" on his eye. He was eleven years old when he passed on to the Rainbow Bridge on May 9, 2008. R.I.P. Patch.

I am now the proud owner of a Jack Russell. His name is Sir Oliver Knox. We call him Ollie. Here are some pictures of him.

I really like to work on the computer in my free time. I assist others with web page design, Powerpoint presentations and newsletter type materials. I collect dalmatians, keychains, magnets, and lighthouses. I am also an Independent Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics.

I grew up in Tullahoma, Tennessee. My mother lives in Tullahoma, Tennessee and my father lives in Manchester, Tennessee. I have two brothers. My older brother lives in Chicago, Illinois. He is an IT consultant. My younger brother lives in Austin, Texas with his wife, Sylvia. They are both attorneys.

I love children...this is why I teach. My joy as an educator is to see children's eyes light up with excitement and enthusiasm when they learn something new, master a skill, or begin to read.

I have taught Kindergarten at Hickerson Elementary for seven years. I am now starting my second year teaching 5th Grade. I was voted Teacher of the Year at Hickerson Elementary in 2007. I attended Middle Tennessee State University where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Education). I am currently working on my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Middle Tennessee State University...one class at a time.

Write me a note or call the school and leave a message for me to return your call. I will be available before 7:40 a.m. and after 3:20 p.m. by scheduled appointments only.

I believe all children can learn. They do not learn at the same pace or in the same way. It is my responsibility to meet each child's individual needs and to provide the tools and assistance that will allow them to reach their fullest potential. Let us all have fun doing this!
