Policies

*Please note that School Board Policy states that a parent may not collect
any missed work for a student unless he or she has been absent for two
days.  Also, work will not be given prior to an extended absence unless it is due to a religious
holiday.

Second grade teachers will allow students ample time to complete missed work at school, no school work will be sent home.

*Please do not send party invitations to school.  Please refer to the GCISD
Parent/Teacher Handbook for more information.

SECOND GRADE EXPECTATIONS:

All students are expected to follow Dove and classroom rules which
include silence in the hallways, respecting yourselves and others, staying on
task, following directions the first time they are given, and talking/listening at
appropriate times.  Students who do not follow these expectations will
first receive an oral warning, followed by a written warning in their planner.

After 2 written warnings, a phone call will be made and depending on the severity of the situation, an office referral may be necessary.

*All students are expected to "set up" their paper correctly for all
assignments written on notebook paper.

*All students are expected to complete classwork on time.  Study hall will
be available during recess for those who did not finish.

*All students are expected to read and complete homework nightly.
Failure to do so will result in a late work mark and the student going to study hall.

*All students are expected to learn the first and second semester high frequency
words.  Please practice daily with your child.
