With well over 300 students in grades 6-8, the Ridgeview Middle
School Band is the largest spirit organization on campus. Since Ridgeview
opened up in 2000, the Panther Band has consistently performed well at
contests and festivals throughout the state of Texas.
Currently the Band is under the direction of James McCrury,
Pete Alvarado and Ashley Rhea. This dynamic trio has provided a high level of
fun and success for their many students.
There are five levels of membership available to students:
Beginner Band, Symphonic Band II, Symphonic Band I, Honor Band and the Wind
Ensemble. Along with presenting many fantastic concerts a year, students can
also participate in individual competitions for personal alcolades, such as
Solo & Ensemble Festival and District/Region Band.
Along with making music, band students also have many
opportunities for fun made available to them! Swimming Parties, outings,
socials and the spring trip are just some of the many things the Panther Band
provides for students to attend.
