Operation EXCELeration

Gildersleeve  PTA welcomes you and your family to the 2007-2008 school year!  PTA is an advocacy group made up of parents and educators working together for our children.  We are a volunteer organization that depends on you to help our children.  We invite you to help us EXCELerate to our goal of 100% membership.

The Gildersleeve PTA is proud to have been honored with 100% membership last year.  This year we want to EXCELerate across the finish line to our 100% membership goal.  Our members are our greatest resource and your continued help and support is key to reaching our goal again this year.

PTA membership requires that we pay dues. The cost of a single membership is $3.00 for a calendar year.  The dues you pay helps to provide programs for your child’s school and operating expenses for Virginia PTA and National PTA.  Without dues, the many services available through PTA would be in jeopardy.  When you join the PTA, you automatically become a member of the Virginia PTA and the National PTA.  Joining the PTA gives you a voice in the issues, programs, and activities that affect and involve your children.  Our students need and deserve all the help and support we can give them as they develop into successful, intelligent, healthy and contributing members of society.  We expect all parents, guardians, teachers, school staff, and administrators to join our PTA and help make a difference in the lives of our children.

This year we’d like to challenge everyone to join before October 15, 2007. Our first school dance will be held soon after.  Every class that reaches the checkered flag by October 15^th will receive free tickets to the dance.  So why not purchase your $3 PTA membership and help your child’s class cross the finish line!
