Grading Scales

Grading is evaluated during all times in the class. The strongest
influence on grades is being "on task" at all times. Employers are
requesting more than anything else, someone who knows the work ehtic
and is willing to learn. They look at the students school attendance
and his/her on task behavior. Then he looks to the technical skills
the student has.

High School "Credit" is allowed for any scores totalling 65% or more.
Scores and credits are recorded for all work completed, with about 50% of
work credit being earned with classroom presentation, assignments and tests,
the remaining 50% is evaluated by the shop tasks completed and their level
of competence demonstrated.

Any student working through all the classroom assignments, completing all
tests and completing all the level 1 shop tasks with a recorded minimum
competency level has always managed to achieve "credit" with a minimum
grade level.

Grading scales currently in use are:
    A  = 100-92%
    A- = 92-90%
    B+ = 89-88%
    B  = 88-82%
    B- = 82-80%
    C+ = 79-78%
    C  = 78-72%
    C- = 72-70
    D  = 69-65%
    F (Fail / non credit) = 65% and below.

REMEMBER that any/all tests taken in Auto Technology may be reviewed and re-
taken for a better score when needed or desired. It is required that the
student study the unit for a two days and arrange to retake the test in
the morning, before school.

Any questions or concerns about the Auto Technology "Grading"
standards should be directed to the instructor either by phone at
253-931-4889 x 1803 (best time is 6:45-7:15 am) or by e-mail from this
webpage.
