About the Teacher

NAME: Erik Foit

SCHOOL: Washington Middle School

CLASS: 7th Grade Science

I grew up in Pullman, Washington and graduated from Pullman High School in
1991. In 1995, I earned my B.S. in Cell & Molecular Biology from the
University of Washington (Seattle). I earned my M.A. in Teaching from the
University of Puget Sound (Tacoma) in 1998.

I began my career in education in 1998, teaching at E.B. Walker High School
in Puyallup. I was at WHS for nine years and taught a variety of classes in grades
9-12, including Physical Science, Biology, Anatomy/Physiology, and various math
courses.

After that, I left Puyallup to teach science and math to both online and on-site
students at Olympia Regional Learning Academy for four years. I came
to WMS in 2011. This is my 19th year in education. I very much enjoy working
at WMS. The students are great and the staff is outstanding.

I have twin 8-year old sons who keep me EXTREMELY busy. My wife is a
former elementary teacher and homemaker. We have two cats (both calico) and a dog
(Dudley lab). I enjoy the outdoors, travel, music, building stuff/working on various
projects, and spending time with my family and friends.
